How a rebuild runs

1. We work out what it has to do. Who is arriving, what they need to believe before they act, and what the one action is. A site with three competing goals achieves none of them.
2. We write and design together. Words and layout are the same job. Deciding the copy after the design is finished is how you end up with a beautiful page that says nothing.
3. We build it and put it live. Days, not months. A rebuild that takes half a year has already cost you half a year of enquiries.
4. We train you to run it. Before we hand it over you are shown how to change your own copy, prices, photos and pages, so you are never waiting on us to correct a typo.

Two ways to buy

Buy it outright. From $2,000 for a five-page site, $3,000 for an unlimited-page custom build and $4,000 with ecommerce, all plus GST. Half on start, half on completion. The site is yours, there is nothing to pay afterwards, and we do not do ongoing maintenance — that is the point of the training. Paying an agency every time you want to change a phone number is a bad deal and you should not be locked into it.

Spread it over a subscription. From $79.99 + GST a month plus a deposit, on an initial two-year term. That includes hosting, daily backups, security updates and break-fix support — if something breaks, or you break it, we fix it. Stay on past the two years and your next rebuild costs nothing. New design work outside the original scope is quoted separately at $120 + GST an hour.

Neither route includes us editing your content for you, on any plan. You are trained to do that, deliberately.

Will a rebuild cost me my Google rankings?

There is usually a dip after any rebuild, and anyone who promises you otherwise is selling something. What we do about it is keep your existing page addresses where we can, and redirect the ones that have to change, so a link pointing at your old site still lands somewhere real.

No client has come back to us about it. We will also say the quiet part: most of the sites we are asked to rebuild are not ranking for anything worth protecting, which is usually why we are being called in the first place. If yours is, say so in your enquiry and we will look at it before we touch anything.

Is there a contract, or is there not?

Both, depending on how you buy, and this page is not going to pretend otherwise. Buy the site outright and there is no contract and nothing ongoing. Half on start, half on completion, and then we are done.

The subscription is different. It runs on an initial two-year term, because the cost of building the site is spread across those payments instead of being charged up front. Cancel before the two years are up and you pay out the balance, and the files are yours.

Do I own it? And what happens to my domain and email?

Bought outright, the site is yours on completion.

On the subscription your monthly payments are what buy the site, spread over two years, so it is fully yours at the end of that term. Move sooner and you pay out the balance and we release the files. Stay on past the two years and your next rebuild costs nothing, and there is no second deposit — that is another two-year term rather than a one-off favour, and we spell it out because we have had it go the other way.

Your domain stays in your name and in your account the whole time. We only point a record at us. We do not host or manage email either: if you are on Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 nothing about your email changes, and we will put the MX records in to keep it running.

You do not do maintenance. What happens when something breaks?

It depends how you bought it. Bought outright there is nothing ongoing, so the site is yours and so is looking after it.

On the subscription, hosting, daily backups, security updates and break-fix support are all included. If it breaks, or you break it, we fix it and it does not cost you anything.

What neither route includes is us editing your content for you. That is not an oversight. It is the point of the training.

We work on it in business hours, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm AEST. There is no 24/7 line and we are not going to pretend there is, but urgent things get looked at the day you tell us.

I am not technical. Can I really run it myself?

Yes, and it takes about twenty minutes to learn.

We do not hand over a folder of training videos, because WordPress and Elementor keep moving their buttons and the videos are wrong within a year. Instead we run a recorded Zoom session with you before handover — fifteen to twenty minutes for a standard site, around thirty for an ecommerce one. We walk you through editing your content, adding pages and putting up blog posts, and for ecommerce your products, orders and store as well.

You keep the recording. When you have forgotten all of it four months later, it is still there.

Do I have to write all the words myself?

Send us what you have and we will make it work. Almost nobody hands over enough copy, and what does arrive usually needs shaping — for search, and for the order a person actually reads things in. We do that as a matter of course.
